Fashion Photography Workshop

On Saturday I went down to in Dumfries to run a Fashion Photography Workshop to support the opening of the Jean Muir exhibition at the National Museum of Costume.

With access to six original Jean Muir dresses, Holly the model, make up artist Jak Morgan and fellow photographer Ewan Arkieson we lead the eight participants through various aspects of fashion photography, with the historic Shambellie House and gardens provided an ideal setting.

We’ve set up a Flickr Group for participants up upload their images, it will be interesting to see if our guidance was useful. Certainly the feedback after the event was very positive. Thanks to all involved for making it a successful day.

Skinny Tyres

Today I was in Perthshire to shoot images for Skinny Tyres, a company offering training holidays in Scotland for cyclists. The discovery of the day was Glen Quaich, where the quiet roads and steep hills made an excellent backdrop for this series of images.

New photography pages

Just finishing off round one of reworking the Photography pages, aside from the new landing page I’ve cleaned up several of the older galleries which have been there in one form or another since 2001. It’s a job I’ve been putting off for a while, but it turned out to not be as fiddly as I thought.

Now the pages are much easier to manage my intention is to add more image ‘collections’ from the archives, plus new images as I shoot them. As ever, watch this space!
